I don't see this ending well (x2)

God I love Missed Connections:

seen u at the liquor store at 94 and White Bear Ave. U were excited that u
were recently divorced. Lets celebrate.
Ty

You are a stunning girl in your early 20's you have short black hair and striking blue eyes. You were wearing skinny jeans and a dark grey coat, you had a sexy lip ring in the middle of your luscious lips and large blue earrings. I thought you winked at me out of the corner of my eye, but I'm not sure. I was waiting in the lobby with my ex to see if she was preggers but it's ok cuz shes not. Please respond.

In case it's unclear, post #2 was titled "Planned Parenthood." A PP missed connection - you can't make that shit up

New shoe Tuesday

I know, I know - I'm getting a little out of hand lately. Again, I was looking for coats and found shoes instead. I was excited to find flats that are actually stylish (sort of) and comfortable (ridiculously).

I'll say it again

Baby. Licenses.

Just think about it.

Yes!

I was a huge fan of this book...and look, it's the adorable boy from Across the Universe.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Conventional wisdom is that Marc Jacobs is a genius, but I just don't feel him. His ads invariably give me the heebies.

The last thing this little gem makes me want to do is run out and buy some Marc Jacobs gear.

Although this Miu Miu ad, I believe, is even worse:

I thought this was disturbing BEFORE I noticed Gene Simmons (or some other member of KISS, as if it matters) on the dress.

New shoe Saturday

I was looking for a new coat/coats - no luck there, but I never have trouble finding shoes I can get excited about.

Who doesn't love a good Venn diagram?

Especially when it takes a commonly misunderstood subject and makes it seem so simple. I have to admit, even after studying abroad in and visting the UK, I thought Great Britain and the UK were synonymous and that Great Britain was just an outdated/informal name for the UK. Turns out Great Britain is the name of the island.

This website has even more info, including helpful hints such as: Irish citizens are not British citizens. British citizens are not Irish citizens. God help you if you forget this when you encounter an Irishman.

Crosstown smackdown

I've finally seen what the 62/35W interchange is going to look like after construction is finished - and in video form no less. I rewatched the Crosstown Commons sections a couple times and it appears that from now on, you won't have to cross two lanes of traffic to remain on 35W South instead of ending up on 62 West, and vice versa. Long overdue genius!

Watch the video on The Deets, another blog that's way better than mine.

PRun Excitement

The remaining designers' Fashion Week collections are up on Blogging Project Runway. As I fully expected, Jillian's is my favorite. It's hard to say who the winner will be, and if I had to guess I'd be wrong. My favorites from the last three seasons were Laura Bennett, Daniel Vosovic, and Kara Saun and they certainly didn't win, so I"m not holding my breath.

Outsourcing

Since I haven't been a very good blogger lately, let me point you to some people who have:

- "Can't for the life of me remember how I found this, but glad I did" blog

- " I wish Sex and the City were still on" blog

- Try not to waste hours here

Sort of an excuse for not blogging....

It's been a fun week, kids.

First, there was Raul Midon at Dakota. A-ma-zing.

Next, Joe Matarese at Acme. There's still time to see him - he's around through this weekend.

Then, Mika at First Ave tonight. I had high expectations and they were exceeded. For real, one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Julie put it best - "I'm jealous of myself for getting to see that."
